Do I have to dress for dinner every evening?
 
One of the joys of sailing with Cunard is the glamour of evenings at sea. In keeping with the high standards of elegance aboard, it is suggested that you dress for dinner as you would for a fine restaurant. There will be formal nights announced, and dress suggestions will be listed each day in the ship's Daily Programme. Evening attire will be specified as one of the following:

Formal: Black tie or formal dark suit for gentlemen. Evening dress or other formal attire for ladies.

Semiformal: Jacket and tie for gentlemen. Cocktail dress or trouser suit for ladies. No jeans.

Elegant casual: Jacket, no tie required for genetlemen. Dress, skirt or trousers for ladies. No shorts or jeans.

What does single-seating dining mean?
 
It means there is just one sitting for dinner, and guests can choose to dine anytime between 7 and 9pm. On Queen Mary 2 and QE2, the Britannia and Mauretania restaurants respectively offer a choice of an early or a late sitting for dinner. All other restaurants are single seating dining.

How will I know which shore excursions are available?
 
About 90 days before you sail, you’ll receive full details of your itinerary and the shore excursions available on your voyage. These can be booked onboard and are charged to your shipboard account. Our port-of call talks will help you get the most out of our shore excursions.

Can disabled guests travel?
 
Guests with disabilities are welcome aboard Cunard vessels. Due to the configuration of our ships, however, wheelchair users and individuals with sight impairments may experience some difficulties in accessing certain areas. Where such individuals would be unable to de safely and comfortably accommodated due to such barriers or other criteria, we may suggest that the guest be accompanied by a companion. For safety reasons, guests in wheelchairs cannot be carried on launches in ports where the ship is at anchor. Upon notification by a guests with a disability, Cunard Reservations will provide written specifications detailing cabin and doorway widths and other pertinent access limitations on board the vessels. Cunard is pleased to permit individuals to bring service animals on board.

In order to make appropriate arrangements, notice that a guest travelling with an animal must be provided at the time of booking. Local laws or customs may prevent animals from disemabrking at particular ports and countries. It is the guest's obligation to obtain all documents/health certificates that may be required. Consult local custom authorities for information and requirements.

Guests with conditions requiring ongoing medical assistance may be asked to have their physician provide a confidential certification form to ensure that they may travel safely. If guests have special dietary needs, Cunard muste be advised at time of booking, or, at the latest, six weeks before sailing. Every effort will be made to comply with such requests.

Luggage in advance and collection arrangements
 
Guests can now arrange to have their luggage transported directly to and from the ship. Cunard’s White Star Luggage Service is the perfect alternative to transporting your own luggage through airport congestion and customs. It’s also a wonderful option for those who choose to extend their travels pre or post voyage. Shipment is provided by DHL Worldwide Express and is available exclusively for Cunard guests. Reservations for this service must be secured at least 30 days prior to your sailing date. Service can be requested within 30 days of sailing at an additional cost and is based on availability and destination. Domestic and international shipping is available. What happens to my luggage at international airports?
 
When you arrive at the international airport on the day of embarkation, you will be met by a Cunard representative who will arrange for your luggage to be taken to the ship and placed in your stateroom.

Can I get my laundry done?
 
Full laundry and dry- cleaning services are available on board our ships and will be billed to your on- board account. Our ships also have complimentary self- service washers, dryers, and irons at our disposal.

Will I be able to attend religious services?
 
A priest will be onboard to conduct Catholic and nondenominational services on all voyages. A minister and rabbi/cantor will be onboard to conduct services coinciding with major religious holidays.

How do I settle my final bill on board?
 
If you wish, you can register your credit card details at check in. If you do and are happy with your final statement, your account will be settled automatically. However, if you wish to settle your on board account at the end of the voyage by traveller’s cheques or cash, you should do so at the Purser’s Office.

How do I get ashore?
 
Usually the ship will dock in the port and you will leave by the gangway (as you did when you embarked). On some ports, however, you will anchor a little way out from the shore and be taken ashore by tender. These ports will be indicated on the itinerary by an ‘A’ next to the port name. Sometimes, these will change depending on the weather or if the port is particularly busy, in which case the Captain may be asked to anchor offshore.

Can I choose to explore independently at the ports of call?
 
Our professional tour staff will be pleased to assist you with local arrangements in various ports of call, whether for one of our exclusive optional shore excursions, a private car and guide, tee- times for golf, or restaurant reservations for a memorable meal ashore. But if you prefer to explore independently that is fine. Taxis are available at most ports, but be sure to negotiate rates before you set off.

What happens to my luggage at the end of the voyage?
 
The night before disembarkation, you will be asked to leave your cases outside your stateroom. After you have come through customs, your luggage will be waiting in the cruise terminal for you to identify and reclaim.
